Drop-In Center: Will Controlling Meds Cause More Harm?

Rising Voices grantee Drop-In Center continues to discuss issues that impact people living with a drug addiction. On his Web blog, the organization's leader, Pavel Kutsev, reacted to the Ukrainian government's recent decision to tighten rules concerning medications that can be used by drug users to mitigate the abstinence syndrome (also known as drug withdrawal).

EWAMT-Yemen: First Workshop On Blogging Completed

Last month we introduced Ghaida'a Al Absi's project Empowerment of Yemeni Women Activists in New Media Techniques which will train a number of women activists of Yemen in collaboration with the Hand in Hand Initiative. It is one of the latest grantees of Rising Voices.

The First Step

On Thursday 20/05/09, we started our first training course in  blogging and social network. The team went to All Girls Association in order to prepare the training hall,  hang the banner, check the PCs and ofcourse we did not forget to prepare the break. 

We recieved 14 activists to have the blogging training. We started at 9:00 am. Each trainer talked about her self.
In the First day of training we covered the following topics
1- Creation of blogs in blogger
2- Morals of blogging
3- How to fame the blog

Computer Aid International

REPACTED has been awarded 25 computers from computer AID Internation in UK and all the computers are Pentium Fours fully installed and with Cables, we are planning to use this computers to start a digital center in Nakuru and enhance the use of online tools by young people we ae fundraising around 2080 Sterling Pounds for shipping them to Kenya we will appreciate any help given.
